Terms and Conditions for Waterloo Carpet Cleaners
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waterloo Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our team to commence work, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing a request for a carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, or related service.
1. Definitions
"We", "us", and "our" refer to Waterloo Carpet Cleaners. "You" and "your" refer to the customer receiving the service. "Services" means any carpet, fabric, upholstery, rug, stain treatment, deodorising, or associated cleaning work arranged through us. References to the premises mean the property where the work is to be carried out.
These terms are intended to create a fair and transparent basis for service delivery. They apply to all bookings unless we agree otherwise in writing. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply in full.
2. Booking Process
Bookings may be made by telephone, email, online form, or any other method we make available from time to time. A booking is only confirmed when we have accepted the request, agreed the service scope, and provided an estimated date or time window. Any quotation issued before a site inspection is based on the information you supply and may be amended if the actual condition, access, or service requirements differ from those described.
When arranging Waterloo carpet cleaning services, you must provide accurate and complete information, including the type of fabric or flooring, approximate area size, known stains, prior cleaning treatments, access restrictions, parking limitations, and any health or safety concerns. Failure to disclose relevant details may affect the method used, the time required, and the final price. We reserve the right to refuse or postpone work where inaccurate information has been supplied.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the premises are ready for the appointment and that an authorised adult is present if access or decision-making may be required. If keys are supplied, we will take reasonable care of them, but you remain responsible for ensuring we are given the correct access arrangements. Any equipment, furniture relocation, or special preparation that is not included in the original booking may incur an additional charge if agreed on site.
3. Service Standards and Scope
We will carry out the services with reasonable care and skill, using suitable methods and materials selected by us in line with the condition of the items and the nature of the soiling. The precise outcome of a cleaning service can vary depending on fibre type, age, wear, pre-existing damage, dye stability, and previous treatments. Accordingly, we do not guarantee complete stain removal or restoration to a new condition.
Our team may decline to use a specific treatment if, in our professional opinion, it could damage the item, surface, or surrounding area. We may recommend an alternative approach where necessary. Any request outside the agreed service scope, including additional rooms, items, or problem areas, will only be undertaken if time permits and the additional cost is approved by you.
You agree to inform us of any delicate materials, hidden defects, underfloor heating, electrical issues, or fragile fittings before work begins. You must also ensure that valuables, small objects, and breakables are removed from the work area. While we take reasonable care, we are not responsible for items left in a position where normal cleaning activity could disturb or displace them.
4. Prices, Payments, and Invoicing
Prices are normally quoted in advance, based on the information available at the time of booking. Unless otherwise stated, quotations are estimates and may change if the work required is materially different from the original description. Where a revised price is needed, we will explain the reason before proceeding. Any price quoted for carpet cleaners Waterloo services may be subject to minimum charges, parking costs, congestion charges, or other reasonable expenses where applicable and agreed.
Payment is due in full on completion of the service unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing. We may accept cash, bank transfer, card payment, or other methods offered at the time of booking or completion. Where an invoice is issued, it must be paid by the due date shown on the invoice. Late payment may result in recovery action and any reasonable costs incurred in collecting outstanding sums.
Any deposit paid to secure an appointment forms part of the total price unless the booking is cancelled in accordance with these terms. Deposits may be non-refundable where we have reserved time, planned staff allocation, or incurred preparation costs. If you dispute an invoice, you must notify us promptly with full details. Undisputed amounts remain payable even where a separate query is under review.
5. Cancellations, Amendments, and Waiting Time
You may cancel or amend a booking by giving us reasonable notice. Cancellations made with sufficient notice may not incur a charge, but where a slot has been reserved specifically for you, we may retain the deposit or charge a cancellation fee if stated at the time of booking. For appointments cancelled at short notice, where our team has already been dispatched or cannot reasonably reallocate the slot, a fee may apply to cover lost time and travel.
If we arrive at the premises and are unable to gain access, or the job cannot proceed because the area is not ready, you may be charged a call-out fee or waiting time fee. Where relevant, this also applies if the service cannot start because furniture has not been moved as agreed, utilities are unavailable, or the items to be cleaned are not present.
We may reschedule or cancel a booking where operational circumstances, severe weather, staff illness, vehicle failure, or other events beyond our reasonable control make it impractical to carry out the work as planned. In such cases, we will seek to offer an alternative appointment. Our liability for such changes is limited to arranging a new booking or refunding any advance payment already received for work not performed.
6. Customer Responsibilities
You must ensure that the premises are safe, accessible, and suitable for the services requested. This includes providing running water, electricity, adequate lighting, and a reasonably clear working area. If pets, children, or vulnerable persons are present, you must take appropriate precautions. Our operatives may stop work if they believe conditions are unsafe or if there is a risk to people, equipment, or property.
You are responsible for securing permission from any landlord, managing agent, building owner, or other relevant party if consent is needed for the service to be carried out. You must also ensure that any parking permits or access authorisations required for the appointment are available. If a permit, badge, or pass is not provided when needed, any resulting delay, fine, or additional cost may be passed on to you where permitted by law.
The customer should notify us of any allergies, sensitivities, or medical conditions that may affect the products or methods used. Although we aim to choose suitable products, you remain responsible for telling us about any known risk factors in advance. We cannot accept responsibility for reactions caused by undisclosed sensitivities unless required by applicable law.
7. Liability and Limitations
We will exercise reasonable care and skill in performing the services. If damage is caused directly by our negligence, we may, at our option, repair, replace, or compensate for the affected item up to the reasonable value of the loss or the cost of rectifying the damage, whichever is lower. You must notify us of any alleged damage as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, before the affected area or item is used extensively after completion.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, weakened fibres, colour migration, shrinkage, structural issues, or adverse reactions caused by manufacturing faults or prior treatments. Normal variations in appearance, pile direction, drying marks, or odour reduction are not defects. While we use appropriate equipment and methods, some items may deteriorate due to age or condition despite proper care.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from any single booking or related series of events shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
8. Waste, Disposal, and Environmental Compliance
In carrying out Waterloo Carpet Cleaners services, waste water, collected residues, disposable cloths, packaging, and other by-products may be generated. We will handle waste in a lawful and environmentally responsible manner. Where waste removal is required, we will dispose of it in accordance with applicable waste management rules and local environmental obligations, using only suitable facilities or permitted disposal methods.
You must not ask us to dispose of hazardous materials, controlled substances, needles, asbestos, or any material that is subject to special handling requirements unless this has been expressly agreed in advance and we are legally permitted to do so. If prohibited waste is discovered during the service, we may suspend work immediately and request that the item or material be removed by an appropriate specialist contractor.
Any waste created by the condition of the property, by third-party materials, or by items not supplied by us remains your responsibility unless otherwise agreed. You must ensure that the premises are compliant with relevant environmental and waste storage obligations where applicable. We may charge additional fees for the collection, segregation, transport, or lawful disposal of unusual waste streams, provided these are agreed before the work continues.
9. Complaints and Reperformance
If you are dissatisfied with the service, you must inform us within a reasonable time after completion and provide sufficient detail to allow us to assess the issue. Where appropriate, we may offer a re-clean of the affected area, a partial adjustment, or another reasonable remedy. Any request for a remedy must be made before a third party alters, cleans, or repairs the area concerned, as that may affect our ability to inspect the issue.
Minor differences in appearance, scent, or drying behaviour are not necessarily grounds for complaint, as cleaning results vary by material and condition. A complaint does not entitle you to withhold payment for undisputed work already performed. If further inspection is required, you must cooperate in arranging reasonable access.
10. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, fire, flood, transport disruption, strike action, utility failure, or acts of third parties. In such circumstances, we may suspend or delay performance without liability, and we will take reasonable steps to resume services as soon as practicable.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
12. General Provisions
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply unless a later version is required by law or expressly agreed. If we choose not to enforce any right at any particular time, this does not mean we have waived that right. Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By proceeding with a booking for carpet cleaning Waterloo or related services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not proceed with the booking or allow work to begin.
